For clients in UK
Private investigator in India for clients in the United Kingdom
The British Indian community is the oldest large Indian diaspora in the West, and the work reflects that — more multi-generational property and inheritance questions than anywhere else we operate.
Why British Indian clients commission verification in India
Where US and Canadian enquiries often concern a first-generation connection, a large share of UK enquiries involve property and family interests that have passed through two or three generations since emigration. Those are the hardest positions to establish remotely: original title documents scattered or lost, decades of informal possession, relatives who have been managing the asset in good faith or otherwise, and mutation records that were never updated.
The UK's time difference is also the friendliest of any country we serve — four and a half to five and a half hours — which means a genuine working overlap with India rather than correspondence by message. UK clients get real-time calls during the Indian working day far more easily than North American ones.
Matrimonial verification remains the largest single category, particularly within the Punjabi and Gujarati communities in London, the West Midlands and Leicester.
Most requested from UK
- Ancestral property that has passed through two or three generations
- Tracing heirs and relatives for an estate or a sale
- Pre-matrimonial checks within the Punjabi and Gujarati communities
- Locating a respondent in India for UK family or civil proceedings
- Supplier verification for UK importers and retailers
- Welfare checks on elderly relatives in India
Time zones. The overlap is excellent. A UK morning is the Indian afternoon, so live calls during the Indian working day are straightforward rather than scheduled around.

What UK clients should know
Inheriting property in India
When the named owner has died, the record usually still shows them. Moving it into the heirs' names needs a mutation in the local revenue record and, depending on the asset and the state, a legal heir certificate, a succession certificate under the Indian Succession Act, 1925, or probate of a will. Every one of those depends on identifying all the heirs. In a family that emigrated two generations ago, that is the hard part — and it is the part we do: tracing each branch and establishing who holds what today.
Serving English court papers in India
Service of English proceedings in India normally goes through the Foreign Process Section and India's Central Authority under the Hague Service Convention. The request is only as good as the address on it. We locate the respondent and confirm the address by visit first, so the request is not returned months later marked unknown.
If you have been defrauded by someone in India
Report it in the UK — in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to Report Fraud, which replaced Action Fraud in December 2025 — and in India through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. What those reports usually lack is a confirmed identity and location on the ground in India, which is what we can establish.

Commissioning a case from UK
The UK is the easiest country we serve: a London morning is the Indian afternoon, so most calls happen live during our working day rather than by appointment. Solicitors can instruct us directly on the client's authority; instructions are taken in writing, findings are reported as a PDF with exhibits, and the investigator can swear an affidavit in India if the findings are needed in evidence. Quotes are fixed in rupees with an indicative sterling figure.

Questions from UK clients
With the current record and a site visit. We obtain the latest record of rights, check for any mutation since his death, and visit to see who is in possession. That tells you whether the next step is a straightforward mutation by the heirs or a dispute your Indian advocate will need to handle.
Often, if the family's village or town is known. Cold family trails in India are usually followed through the place rather than through records: neighbours, the local gurdwara or temple, schools and land records keep track of families that no database does. After a first stage we tell you whether the trail is live.
Yes, on the client's written instruction. We report facts and method. Advice on Indian law should come from an Indian advocate, and we work alongside yours.
Work in the UK is done by investigators there, within UK law, and limited to what the case needs. We do not obtain bank, phone or medical records in any country.
